Nick Zinner: “It´s just cool to documentate all those kids”
Most kaput readers know Nick Zinner as the guitarist for the New York noise-rock outfit Yeah Yeah Yeahs, started in 2000 with Karen O and Brian Chase), as collaborators with other likeminded musicians (from TV on the Radio and Santigold to Scarlett Johansson) and also as a producer – but Zinner is on top a pretty wicked photographer; he actually studied photography at Bard College before his music career took of so heavily.
While going through our archives we surprisingly found those four images of the opening night of Zinners 2010 New York exhibition “1001 Images”, presented by Vice Magazine as part of their CMJ Festival activities. With “1001 Images” he captures beautifully the relationship of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with their fans as much as the monotony of being on tour and sleeping overnight in a different hotel bed.
