An endless stream of inspiration
The 2016 edition of Moogfest took me by surprise I have to say. Coming in through some friendly invitation I was not quite sure what exactly to expect from a festival in a kind of southern small town like Durham. But then both, city and festival, took my heart fast and furious.
It is quite rare to find so many kind and interesting people coming together to organize and participate in a festival with that wide range of happenings (panels, speeches, workshops, exhibitions, concert and club nights) and artists – an endless stream of inspiration.
2017 editions seemed a bit less attended, but nothing less challenging than the 2016 one. Again there was so much to experience at Moogfest. Here are some of the most intense moments:
- Durham before the storme
- Jas Shaw of SMD giving an ambient´n´food-durational
- Matt Werth of Rvng Intl opening up for kaput
- Moor Mother 1
- Moor Mother 2
- 4 white guys with synths – that must be Survive
- Syrinx playing some avant-garde gospel
- The name of the cool kids is: Wolf Eyes
- Say my name: Princess Nokia
- Again? Princess Nokia.
- Lena Willikens playing some records for the boys from Fixed NYC
- The mother of the Buchla synthesizer in conversation with kaput: Suzanne Ciani
- Suzanne Ciani playing the Buchla
- Last preparations of another “Strange Things” moment
- Camae Ayewa aka Moor Mother
- Over and out
