Dekmantel 2019 – A look back in moving images

Pleasure and dedication

When have you for the last time been to a festival for three days and came back with nothing, I mean nothing, bad to say? Right, this is not the usual experience. Normally we humans have the tendency to complain about other humans and their noises and habits… about the music… about the venue… about, about, about.

To my own surprise, I can not come up with anything like this. This years Dekmantel festival was the most perfect and overwhelming festival experience one can think of: only (and this is no exaggeration) good sets of the performing artists (okay, Roisin Murphy maybe was a bit too stoned on the first half of her set, but therefor the second half was simply brilliant) – and maybe more important: no fights and arguments on the field at all observed, the vibe was excellent, even in the rainy moments of the first day. And Dekmantel 2019 felt so naturally green, I visited so many festivals in my life, but I can’t remember seeing anywhere less garbage.

We could try to come up here with a list of the most outstanding performances of this years Dekmantel, but honestly: why?
As said: everybody performing delivered a very significant set, embossed with total pleasure and dedication. So therefor we decided to just drop one by one the video we posted from the field in moments of excitement.
