Gelbart “March of the thinking machines”

Kaput is proudly presenting the brand new video clip by Gelbart which dives into the surrealist universe of his novel “Egglike”, where militaristic cats, flying sharks, self-driving vehicles, and egg-obsessed aliens intermix in a celebration of weirdness.

Consistent with the theme of AI in the song’s title, the cats in the video were drawn using a computer program called pix2pix—a “Generative adversarial network” that has studied thousands of photos of cats and taught itself to turn doodles of cats into photo-realistic images. While some of the resulting cats look convincing, the best ones are just beautifully bizarre. The video was animated by Gelbart on top of videos shot in Berlin and on tours.

“March of the thinking machines” is taken from the album “Preemptive Musical Offerings to Satisfy Our Future Masters”, released on Gagarin Records, the label by Felix Kubin.
