One night at the Hallschlag

The terms were clear: either the camera stays off or there is no interview. That’s why now, more than 20 years later, only this video of the Fugazi concert exists, and none of the conversation I had with Ian MacKaye on this particular 30th of June 1995.

Fugazi had performed in a weird multi-purpose hall in Stuttgart, in the middle of a working class area called Hallschlag – needless to say there was no other hardcore or punk rock show after that day in this hall again. Fugazi had said it all.
