Melt! A love affair in many chapters
Melt! Festival 2024 gonna mark the end of an incredible run. After 25 years the festival is happening this weekend for the last time.
Instead of many words, I let these 27 photos (mostly in my typical blurred kaput style) tell a version of how Melt! happened to me – it was def a rollercoaster ride. Over something like ten years I experienced pretty much everything on this grounds with friends and like minded people. Very thankful to Stefan Lehmkuhl and his multiple teams (too many to name) for making all this possible. ❤️
Who says Melt! has also has to say Melt! Pre-Parties and -Gatherings in Berlin, can’t forget the still existing Melt!-Partnerfestival Splash!, and has to remember all the trips to Bauhaus, lakes and all those friends who crashed in my hotel rooms cause camping was only a great idea until it rained. 😊
I wanna also personally thank Majid Moussavi for once kinda carrying me home from a stage I shared with Ada, Metope and Sid LeRock (see first photo) to my flat in Cologne (fitting lyrics, by Phantom/Ghost: “you never know when it’s enough until you know when it’s more than enough”). Endless gratitude.
PS: Somehow I have to always think of “I talk to the trees” by Masha Qrella (here a special Tokyo performance), when I think of Melt! – but the trees and stars def talked to me on that festival and still do.
Sweet dreams, Melt!
